The previously separate CHAT & CRAFT and SEWING Groups have been amalgamated into a single Group now called the Q.A.C.K.S. (Quilting and Craft Knitting Sewing) Group. The Group Leader is Janet Furtado

A number of Newent and District U3A members including Q.A.C.K.S. have very kindly volunteered their time and skill in a great cause. Along with Mayhill W.I. they answered the call to knit small teddies to be distributed between the Gloucestershire Fire Service and the Gloucestershire Police Force, for use in emergencies involving young children. A BIG thank you to everyone involved, your efforts are much appreciated! The attached photo shows just some of the teddies.
Thank you also to to all those of you who were involved in making Cot Canopies for a Special care Baby unit.
Most recently, Janet reports that Q.A.C.K.S. members have also made a lot of hats and cardigans for premature babies as well as pursuing their own personal projects.
