Newcastle Emlyn

About Us

  • ANNOUNCEMENT - Due to government guidelines, all meetings/groups are postponed until further notice. Committee members are contactable via the COMMITTEE page and Group Leaders are contactable via the GROUPS page. Normal service will be resumed as soon as possible!

NEWCASTLE EMLYN U3A was established in 1994 and currently has about 118 members and about 24 interest groups which are growing all the time.

NEWCASTLE EMLYN U3A was originally known as the TEIFI SIDE U3A but it was recently thought that we needed a more specific name so as to identify where our home actually is.

Today, our monthly meetings are held at 10.30am for 11am on the 1st Wednesday of each month at the Community Hall, Church Lane, Newcastle Emlyn where we have very interesting talks/presentations by both our own members and by guest speakers.

Throughout each month we have Special Interest Groups meeting at various venues, days and times. Our Special Interest Groups are open only to members of U3A. Group taster sessions are also available but it is not possible to continue an interest group separately after a couple of group taster sessions, without joining NEWCASTLE EMLYN U3A. (For new members joining between January and June, there is a reduced rate subscription).

If you would like any information about any of our groups, please contact the Group Leaders mentioned on the Group's pages. Some of our special interest group are held in conjunction with Cardigan U3A. Please click on the Events button above for our current programme.

NEWCASTLE EMLYN U3A celebrated its 20th Anniversary in September 2014 with a "Royal Visit" from King Henry VIII as enacted by Mr Mike Farley Jnr.

We are now looking towards the next 20 years and beyond. We hope you’ll consider joining us.

If you have any other queries or questions about Newcastle Emlyn U3A, please contact a member of the Committee.
