Spanish - Beginners
We have a modular approach to our basic Spanish, using practical themes such as going to a restaurant, shopping, visiting a doctor, booking hotel rooms, asking and giving directions.
We use role play to encourage conversations in Spanish, introducing grammar gradually with the various themes.
We also read and translate short stories and, when appropriate, listen to genuine Spanish speakers via CDs, to improve listening skills and improve pronunciation.
The modular approach can accommodate "Beginners" with some basic knowledge, joining at any time, without feeling overawed by lack of vocabulary or grammar. But ideally, complete beginners would start in either March or September for a few weeks of essential elements of Spanish prior to joining in with the role play and other exercises.
