The basis of the group is one of self-help, although outside speakers are invited to address some meetings during the year.
Members research topics and share the knowledge gained; we also share gardening problems and solutions. From time to time we have trouble-shooting sessions. Each year there is usually at least one outing to a place of horticultural interest – last year there were three: to Andy McIndoe’s garden, Romsey, in June; Capel Manor Gardens, Enfield, in July and Houghton Lodge, Stockbridge, in September.
We are affiliated to the RHS which entitles us to use their advisory service, but for most problems there is someone in the group who can provide the answer.
