Beacon is our new online membership portal. For an understanding of how the system works click on "Beacon"

Click on each heading (or on the Links to the right) for more information on each topic and use the last two for online subscriptions

Membership Applications and Renewals can be made by downloading the form accessible by this link and following the instructions to submit it to our Office. Remember to send an sae if you do not wish to print your membership card at home.

By joining Newbury u3a through this page either as a new member or as an existing member renewing, you are accepting the terms and conditions set out in the Conditions link. Please read these these before proceeding

Active Groups
View the Beacon group activities list. At a glance you can see the many and varied activities that are on offer. Click on each one to see further details, but in order to see if there are vacancies, you will need to view the secure version of this list in the Members Portal.

Administrators Login
This is a link for the administrators of our Beacon system, including office staff, group leaders, and others. This requires a dedicated username and password.

Calendar of Events
This allows you to view a day-by-day list of our scheduled activities. This will include holidays and outings (once covid is under control!). You will be able to see more information if you look at the secure version of this list in the Members Portal.
Note that holidays and outings will all be at the bottom of the list, under 'Z' - this is to make them easier to find. For holidays and outings you will still be required to fill in an application form and pay as instructed to secure your place. Flyers and application forms for each outing or holiday will be available elsewhere on this website.

New Members - Join Online
Click on this link New Members - Join the Newbury U3A here This takes you to a secure system, so simply follow the instructions. Note that you don't need to be a PayPal member to use this - simply click on 'Pay as a guest'.
Alternatively, apply to our Office to join.

Members Portal
Log in using the link on the right giving the information requested (no password is required).
~ You can edit your own members record. If you are better known by a nickname or a shortened version of your given name, you can add it here under 'Known as'. Please also enter and update Emergency Contact (ICE) information.
~ You can view secure versions of the activities listing and the Calendar (which includes more information compared with the 'public' versions offered on this page). In many cases you can sign up for an activity or join a waiting list if it's currently full.
~ At the appropriate time you will also see a prompt to renew your membership to the U3A online.
~ Although the system uses PayPal as a payment service, you do NOT need to be a PayPal member to use it. Go for the 'Pay as a Guest' option and use your normal credit or debit card to pay. You will immediately receive a confirmation and a receipt
~ Your membership class will remain the same unless you explicitly request the Membership Secretary to change it.
