Much Wenlock, Broseley & District

Membership and Joining Details

Our current membership is running at around 240. We charge an annual subscription, which is kept fairly low, on the understanding that activity groups are self-funding. The membership fee pays the "capitation charge" to our parent charity (The Third Age Trust), for the quarterly magazine (TAM), the monthly meeting speakers, with hall hire and refreshments, and the general expenses incurred in running the U3A.

We warmly welcome new members.

Membership fees are £15 for individual members and £28 for two people residing at the same address.

A reduction in the fee is made for members of other U3As and those joining late in the membership year. The exact details are provided on the membership application form.

When the document opens in your browser, print a copy and fill it in. To enable us to communicate with you on U3A business and to receive the magazine "Third Age Matters", please tick the boxes provided.

Return the completed form to the Membership Secretary at the address at the bottom of the form. Please enclose a cheque for your fee, made payable to Much Wenlock U3A.
Alternatively bring the completed form and a cheque or cash along to the monthly meeting at the Priory Hall, where we staff a welcome table.

(NB: Please do not give the completed form and fee to a committee member or group leader to pass on. We have had problems in the past when this happens)

Renewing Your Existing Membership

Annual membership fees are due on 1st May each year.
Existing members can pay by any one of the following methods:

Standing Order
This can very simply be done by:

  • you completing a standing order form and giving it to your bank

or

  • you setting up the standing order in branch, over the phone or using online banking

You will need to inform your bank that payment should be made to:

Much Wenlock U3A
Account No. 93391531
Sort Code: 20-08-64

The paying in reference needs to be your surname followed by your U3A membership number - this will allow the treasurer to record when payment has been made.

BACS
This can be done in the usual manner, once again providing the above noted reference information.

Cheque or Cash
This can be done either by paying directly to the Membership Secretary at the monthly U3A meeting or by post to:

Michael Theobalds
44 Barrow Street
Much Wenlock
TF13 6ET

If any member has a query about the payment of subscriptions the treasurer can be contacted by e-mail by clicking on Treasurer
