Canasta

A Canasta group has started. It meets at Portessie Public Hall, 9 Chancellor Road, Portessie. AB56 1TD on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month at 2pm.

For people with mobility issues, cars can be parked outside the front of the building, near to the entrance.

Canasta originates from Montevideo, Uruguay and was created around 1939. It spread rapidly around the world and there are a number of variations and sets of rules.

Because it can be played by between two and six players, it is more flexible than Bridge, where you can only play with groups of four.
