Monthly Members' Meeting

2.30pm on 3rd Wednesday of each month (except June, July and August)

McBoyle Hall, Seafield Terrace, Portknockie

Normally our Monthly Meeting includes a guest speaker, tea, coffee and biscuits followed by a review of current/planned/new groups and AOB. These meetings are open to all members. Anyone interested in joining the Moray Coast U3A is encouraged to attend one of these meetings and can be sure of receiving a very warm welcome. Speakers, time, location and other details will be listed under Meetings below when confirmed.

Events and meetings open to all members of the Moray Coast U3A are detailed below, followed by news items from interest group leaders. All interest group events are shown on the relevant Group Page.

Our Annual General Meeting on Wednesday 15th May at 2.30 p.m. in the McBoyle Hall, Portknockie seemed to go very well. Thanks to all who contributed to this successful meeting.

Our Last Monthly Meeting

Our last meeting was on Wednesday September 18th at 2:30 p.m. in the McBoyle Hall, Portknockie. The speakers were Watch Manager John Smith and Firefighter Graeme Smith. They delivered an informative talk on the work of the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service. Particular reference was made to fire safety in the home and a number of informative leaflets were distributed to the membership. For those members who were unable to attend copies of these leaflets can be downloaded from the "News" page.

At the start of the meeting there was a short SPECIAL GENERAL MEETING in order for the membership to vote on the NEW CONSTITUTION. Details of the New Constitution have already been circulated to members. A copy of the proposed NEW CONSTITUTION may be downloaded from the link on the right of this page.

Thirty three (33) members were in the audience, (not including the Chair of the meeting), and they voted unanimously to accept the new constitution. This number of members clearly exceeds the minimum quorum needed to change the constitution. The New Constitution is, therefore, adopted.

The Next Monthly Meeting

The next monthly meeting will be on Wednesday 16th October at 2:30 p.m. in the McBoyle Hall, Portknockie. The Speaker will be Stewart Stevenson, MSP for Banffshire and Buchan Coast. He will be coming to speak to us about life as an MSP and as a Minister.

Prior to this meeting members will also receive a reminder, via email, complete with an agenda, which can be downloaded and printed.
