Happy Wanderers (Villages 2)
Welcome to the Happy Wanderers’ webpage.
We were previously known as Villagers 2.
Officially we meet on the third Friday of the month but this could change to suit specific circumstances such as when an activity is not available on that particular date.
In the past our approach was to select a village to research and do our own research and one month we would report on our findings at a discussion usually at the Beach House.
The next month we would visit that village and explore those findings. Sometimes we would do this all ourselves or on some occasions we would hire a guide from that area.
Following the pandemic and our experiences from last year (2022) we are trying a different approach.
For this year (2023) we have arranged the following agenda
1. February
Lunch at Brockenhurst College for Wednesday 1st of March.
The cost is £19.50 which together with a tip would be £22.00 per person. This has become our February meeting.
2. March meeting Date March 17
It was to be a viit to Winchester but was cancelled due to weather and has now moved to April 20. Seee below.
3. April 20
Visit to Winchester.
Details have to be finalised but we will meet at the park and ride there.
This was planned for last year and Janice hopes she still has the details of that.
4. May 17th.
Visit to Russell Cotes museum in Bournemouth.
Guided tour of the house.
Minimum number required for this so will make it open for a (few) other U3A members.
THIS VISIT IS NOW FULLY BOOKED.
5. June (16th but to be confirmed)
Visit to Mottisfont (National Trust). Hopefully the roses will be well out.
Probably take picnics.
Also possible planning meeting.
6. Future
Possibly to Avebury.
We have had a number of new members join and the group is now full.
Members taking part in physical activities are reminded that they do so at their own risk.
