French Conversation
This is a merged group of the two former groups: French
Conversation and French Improvers.
The level of French required is intermediate to advanced, with
the emphasis being on day to day listening and speaking. Whilst
we occasionally review just a little grammar, as required, the
main intention is to practice French by listening and speaking,
with a small amount of reading. We watch TV News clips in slow
french and instructional video clips on day to day topics of
interest, and everyone is given an opportunity to speak at
whatever level they are comfortable with.
We try to keep things friendly and fun, and most definitely NOT
like a school classroom. Anyone with a working level of French,
who wants to improve by simply listening and talking, will find it
the perfect solution. You will be surprised how your French
improves with such an approach, when practised and supported
regularly over time. Regularly using foreign languages is known
to be one of the best ways to keep your brain healthy and
improve brain function.
