The Litter Picking group welcomes members who are happy to spend a little time helping keep our community clean and tidy and keep our wildlife safe. We work in conjunction with the Melton Wombles litter picking group. We choose a "grot spot" in the Melton area and agree a time when we can get together and clear it. The Wombles have kindly loaned us some tools for members to see if it's an activity you are happy to take part in. If you wish to continue we would recommend you buying your own litter picker and hoop, and can advise on this.
It's actually quite a fun thing to do and a way to meet new people, chatting as you pick. Most people take to it really well and we have already filled and disposed of quite a few bags of rubbish from our area. It's very satisfying.
