The U3A is a self-funding organisation and is designed for people who are not in 'full-time gainful employment'-- so those who are retired or no longer have full time resposibilities for chidren's upbringing. That means quite a lot of us.
Members decide what topics they are interested in and have the opportunity to pass on ideas , learn or simply satisfy curiosity with others.
Meet other like minded people at monthly members meetings (see 'events' tab above) where you may just want a tea and chat, or play board games or listen to an interesting speaker.
Join an activity group (see 'groups' tab above) and learn something new, or maybe you will be the tutor!
There is also the opportunity to attend study days or other events on offer via the Derbyshire network. If you want to go further afield then have a look at the East Midlands site or even the national site. See LINKS tab.
We now have a newsletter which you can find on the LINKS tab, click Newsletter and it will download. If you would like to contribute to the newsletter, please contact a committee member, details at the bottom of this page.
