Science & Technology Forum

The group leader is John Hall, Tel 01223 846351.
The group meets the first Wednesday of the month at 2.15 pm at Foxton Village Hall.

We welcome a range of disciplines at any level. Most of our activities introduce the science required on the basis of little previous knowledge. The orientation is towards popular science.

There is one feature that marks out our group - the interaction you will have with other members. We achieve this through small group discussions, quizzes, games and interactive talks. You don't have to be an expert on anything we might discuss. Coming armed with some questions is equally fruitful and useful.

Every year we might have two external speakers, one or two visits, and we will have a theme that guides the remaining monthly which tend to be interactive in one way or another.

Each meeting has a typical format as follows:-

2.15 - 2.30 Coffees and Teas

2.30 - 2.35 Forum Business

2.35 - 2.50 Science/Technology headlines that have caught our attention over the last month

2.50 - 3.50 The main activity of the month

3.50 - 4.00 - Close of activities
