The group started in 2013 and has managed to keep a good membership currently at 12 although people have come and gone over the years. This year we decided to try something different. One of our members John has been designing and making cushions for all of his family members and he showed us how to do this with us all having a go at making one.
We then moved on to making items for sale at the December meeting and another member showed us how to use felt to make gift bags and tree decorations. This was a revelation for some of us who have become somewhat obsessed with what you can do with felt! Together we made over 200 items!
We are now looking to widen our activities and have had discussions with Wool gatherers with a view to combining the two groups with members having double opportunities to meet up. I thought we could call it Creative Stitching and could include knitting, tapestry, crochet, felt work, applique, quilting and any other similar type of craft.
