The poetry group meets every four weeks in the afternoon in Rochester Library, a venue that members find satisfactory in every respect.
All members contribute to the group sessions by presenting in turn the work of a poet of their choice. During the course of the last year a wide selection of poets and their work have been studied and enjoyed by all. Those have included Walt Whitman, Ruth Padell, William Blake, Thomas Hardy, Billy Collins, war poets 1914-18 and 1939-45, The Poets Laureate, Simon Armitage and several others.
In conclusion, I believe that in the past year we have all enjoyed our active participation in group activities and look forward to continuing our exploration of the wonderful world of poetry during the course of the next year.
