This French conversation group meets every Tuesday in Blue Bell Hill Village from 10.30 am – 11.30 am. There is no native speaker but the less proficient are well supported by the very fluent members of the group and a dictionary comes in very handy!
Most of the session is spent in talking about our normal weekday activities and special events. From time to time, we read texts and magazine articles on a range of subjects about France and the French and texts containing current French news. Most people are able to read and translate on sight but others prefer to have the text in advance. Very occasionally, there is a short “warm-up” activity – nothing too demanding!
The group continues to be challenging, extremely enjoyable and the conversation flows well, showing that the French is improving.
This year we lost one member and welcomed someone new. As the meetings take place in a private house with limited space, our group is now at its full compliment of eight.
