MAYFIELD AND DISTRICT U3A
Welcome to the U3A in Mayfield & District. Although based in Mayfield our membership is drawn from villages and communities in the beautiful High Weald region of East Sussex including Rotherfield, Ticehurst, Burwash, Heathfield, Frant and Five Ashes.
Established in July 2005 there are currently about 150 members and around 20 interest groups. For more information about the birth of the Branch see Ann Scott's reminiscences on the History page. (see button above).
A main meeting is held on the 3rd Thursday each month with a speaker. (Exceptions being August and December). In addition trips by car or coach to places of interest and theatres are regularly arranged by various groups.
Although called a University no academic qualifications are required to join. There is no formal teaching and certainly no examination! There is no age limit but members tend to be retired or approaching retirement.
This is a lively and friendly group of people with a wide variety of skills and life experiences who are happy to share their knowledge, learn from each other and develop new interests.
Please explore our Events and Groups pages. We hope you find something of interest. If not and you have any ideas for activities we would love to hear from you. We would be particularly pleased to hear from anyone willing to lead a group. Teaching experience is definitely not necessary.
We look forward to hearing from you - please feel free to use the telephone links and email facility on the CONTACT page.
