Update on the Art Group
The Group was previously planning to restart their sessions until the Lancashire lockdown came into play, so for the time being we are all at home carrying on with our art. We have kept in regular touch throughout the lockdown. The leader asked members to email regularly saying how they’ve been keeping safe and busy by painting, gardening etc. and to submit picture attachments to emails showing their artistic output.
The leader has then collated all their emails and pictures onto a Bulletin which was sent out every 10-14 days or so. To date the leader has sent 14 Bulletins out.
It has been suggested to them that they do some painting on our normal Thursday mornings anyway so that collectively we have been painting and drawing together, albeit in our own homes rather than in MVH.
Everyone has missed the regular get together sessions and are itching to get back to normal again.
We are The Art Group, a friendly and sociable self-help group of like-minded artists who come together to paint and draw, and who meet in Mawdesley Village Hall on the first and third Thursdays of each month between 10 am and 12 noon.
We bring our own pieces of art to work on and support, and learn from, each other in our endeavours by sharing experience and skills in a range of media used.
We occasionally have an outside artist / speaker to provide demonstrations and inspiration, run a library of art books for you to borrow for inspiration, and also organise an annual exhibition of our finished artwork.
Each session costs only £2 to cover Hall Hire and refreshments, so whatever your level of experience, from beginners to the more advanced, why not come along one session and “release your inner artist”
New members will be made especially welcome.
