Information about the Group's bird watching trips is set out at the bottom of this page. Further details, including the leaders' names and contact details, will appear shortly before the dates of the individual trips.
We are basically a bunch of Market Drayton U3A members who enjoy birds as well as other wildlife along with the great outdoors and try to share our related knowledge.
Our bird watching trips start from Buntingsdale Road,Market Drayton at 9.15 am, unless otherwise stated - the meeting place is between the church and the allotments. All trips normally take place on the third Monday of each month apart from in July,August and December when no meetings take place. We use shared cars wherever possible.
Outdoor clothing, including stout shoes or boots, and a pair of binoculars are the only items basically required along with possibly a flask and other refreshments although some of the locations we visit do have café facilities.
For further information about the Bird Watching Group, please contact the convener, Alan Cartwright, on 01630 296126, or via email, firstname.lastname@example.org.For more information on an individual trip please contact the leader when details are shown.
Please also contact the leader if there is extremely wet and windy weather on the day of a trip to see if it is going ahead as birds are even less enthusiastic about such conditions than ourselves and can become difficult to see.
