Recorder Group

The Recorder Group

We are a group of seven average ability players who have an age range of 50+ to 90+. We meet and play twice a month with fun, not expertise, being our raison d’etre.

At the moment there are three descant, two treble and two tenor players so our music is usually arranged in three parts. Our repertoire is over 300 tunes which cover most of the music spectrum e.g. 17th century Art tunes, folk songs, excerpts from opera and classical music, jazz standards, show tunes, pop music and personal compositions.

The main emphasis in our meetings is playing for fun. We do not wish to perform in public as we do not need the stress that public performance engenders.
