I enjoy looking after our financial affairs and the job is made a lot easier when I can report that we have been very fortunate, over the last few years, in not having to increase our membership fees which have remained as :
£15 for those renewing their membership,
£17 for new members
£11.50 for associate members
£13.50 for new associate members.
These subscriptions have been maintained through the support that you all give to the fund-raising events that are put on throughout the year also the book stall which can always be relied upon to provide just the right novel to suit every taste. We always have such a good time at the Quiz Night. We now have the Coffee Morning to be held in May to look forward to, and this also is usually a great boost to our funds. This year it is being held in St Philip Neri's Church Hall on Chesterfield Road. Of course a lot of people put a good deal of hard work into making these events such a success and we are extremely grateful to them.
Another useful addition to our bank balance has come from Gift Aid. By tax payers completing a simple form (which can be downloaded here and handed to me at the meeting) I can claim back the tax that you have paid on your subscription.
A gentle reminder :
SUBCRIPTIONS ARE DUE IN AUGUST
PLEASE NOTE THAT FROM THIS YEAR WE ARE GOING TO BE ASKING YOU TO COMPLETE A NEW MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL FORM WITH YOUR SUBSCRIPTION PAYMENT. THIS WILL BE PRINTED IN THE NEWSLETTER IN THE COMING MONTHS, OR YOU CAN DOWNLOAD IT FROM THE FINANCE WEBPAGE. The main reason for this is to make my job a lot easier when recording payments, but it will also ensure that we have up-to-date information regarding your contact details.
You can make cheques payable to Mansfield & District U3A or you can pay directly into the bank – details from me at the meeting.
I also accept cash at the meetings if you prefer that method of payment.
WHICHEVER METHOD OF PAYMENT YOU DECIDE UPON, AN INDIVIDUAL MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL FORM WILL BE REQUIRED TO ACCOMPANY IT.
Subscriptions for 2017/2018 remained at the above amounts; those for 2018/2019 have not been set as yet, and the forms retain last year's subscription amounts for example only.
The books have been successfully audited for 2017, and my thanks must go to Pauline Boucher for giving up her time to carry out this work. I would also like to thank Sheila Pegg for looking after the Groups' Accounts. A copy of the Financial Statement for 2017 can be viewed from the link above.
I am always available at the monthly meeting, if anyone has a query relating to any of the above.
Thank you for your continued support.
Yvonne Kennison, Treasurer.
