Luncheon Club, Programme 2018
The Luncheon Club is 'on hold' for the moment until a new organiser steps forward.
Monthly lunches are on the Thursday after each main U3A meeting: 12.00 for 12.30
Mansfield U3A Lunch Club provides opportunities to enjoy fine food, good company and excellent value at venues offering plain and simple fare to classic and international cuisine. Vegetarian, gluten-free and diabetic options are always available.
Bookings usually open 3 months in advance on a first-come basis, sometimes with a special discounted menu so that members can pre-order and thus speed service but sometimes the staff take orders from the venue's full a la carte or table d'hote menus during our pre-lunch chat.
Arrangements are made by different members each month and suggestions are always welcome over lunch, at main meetings or by email/phone to the organiser. (See Arrangement Notes.)
Places can be reserved at the Luncheon Club table – or by email or phone in advance to avoid queuing. Guests from other U3A branches are welcome at most lunches but their names will be added to the event waiting list so that all Mansfield U3A members who want to attend popular meetings may do so.
Regrettably, following a couple of no-shows, all lunchers will now be held responsible for the cost of the meals booked on their behalf unless cancelled 24 hours beforehand.
Many members like to share cars in order to reduce costs and several are willing to offer lifts in an informal car-sharing scheme, for which a contribution to the driver of £2 or £4 is made, depending on the distance involved.
We hope there's something here that appeals to you because you will be very welcome! Please check the Events page for more information.
