Hikers

Mansfield U3A Hiking Group caters for walkers who enjoy a good day in glorious countryside and in good company. The walks take place on the third Monday of each month. Some additional walks may be arranged on the first Thursday or on alternative days.

We normally walk anything over 6 miles to 10 miles (7-8) being the normal. We grade each walk so you can choose which you go on!

If you would wish to join us on the walks, or a walk, please contact Tim Spurry and I will put you on the contact list and give you any necessary information.

We always plan to set off from Mansfield at 9:30am prompt, this then sets the arrival time at the walk meeting point and thus the walk start time.

Walk start location details are published and distributed a week or two prior to the walk.

Walkers who do not have their own transport or would prefer a lift to the walk sites should try and arrange transport with other walkers they know or failing that contact Tim Spurry, who will try and arrange transport.

Please contact Tim Spurry for more information :- 01623 647961 or via email By using the 'Pigeon' link on this page.

Please do not bring your dog or grandchildren on the walks.

Grading system: Grade 1 = Easy – Grade 5 = Most difficult

We encourage walkers to take us on their favourite walks and to lead these, so please talk to Tim if you have a good walk or idea.

We usually enjoy a drink together at the end of the walk at a local pub or coffee shop where any U3A announcements are made to the group.

Please note that walks might have to be changed at short notice because of adverse weather conditions or for other reasons, hence contact details are important.
