Maidstone

Butterfly

What: Sharing an interest in butterflies. I have been interested in British Butterflies since being evacuated to mid-Surrey during the war. I wondered whether there were any others in Maidstone U3A with a similar interest. I make regular visits to Trosley Country Park and send my sightings to British Butterfly Conservation’s Kent recorder, and much more. There are other good local sites at Queendown Warren, near Gillingham and Darland Banks , Gillingham/Chatham.

When: When conditions are suitable.

Where: Various sites known for their butterflies.
