Music Appreciation
Prior to February this large group (40 to 50) met on a monthly basis. The aim of the group was to increase knowledge, understanding and consequently our enjoyment of classical music and jazz. They did this by listening, on CD, to as wide a range of these types of music as possible, together with words of description, explanation or analysis as appropriate, covering both items which are unfamiliar as well as established favourites.The programmes alternated between classical and jazz on successive months. The group has high quality sound equipment for their use.
The group is currently suspended while waiting for a new group leader. New ideas for the group moving forward are welcome.
