U3A BRIDGE GROUP
Our Social Bridge Group consists of members who wish to play in a friendly, informal, non-competitive, learning environment and where we all have the freedom to discuss the play and bidding after each hand is played (if we wish). Anyone who understands the basics of Bridge is very welcome to join us; the aim is to enable all to progress without the competitive pressures found in a formal Bridge Club.
Currently we have 16 members but generally find we have enough for 2 - 3 tables. We meet at 1400 to c1630 on the first and third Monday of each month except August. Our venue has recently changed to The Stag Hotel, Lyndhurst High Street. The only cost is that each member buys a tea or coffee or some other drink - the Stag gives members a 10% discount on these.
So the group remains a comfortable place for those who are less confident in their Bridge, a ‘charter’ was agreed to govern our place - please click on the relevant button on the right to view this.
