Lymington

Where Your Money Goes

Lymington u3a is entirely run by volunteers.

All of our income comes from our annual membership fees.
There is an annual precept of £4 per member levied by the Third Age Trust (the u3a national umbrella organisation)
The Trust provides us with IT and administrative programmes and platforms, insurance and advice on legal and charity matters, as well as online learning resources.

Annual local expenses that we incur include:

  • Beacon - the U3A movement’s integrated membership, groups, finance and mailing system
  • Hall hire for monthly meetings and TED Talks
  • Speaker fees
  • Postage to distribute the Third Age Matters magazine and our Lymington u3a Newsletter to members not on email
  • Professional services fees - e.g. Accounts Examiner and Printing

Please note that membership of Lymington u3a does not confer membership of other u3as. You will have to pay their subscription if you wish to participate in their activities.
