Scottish Country Dancing
Scottish Country Dancing
Leader/contact: Josephine Maclean
The group meets twice a month on a Monday afternoon at St Augustine's Church Hall from 2 - 4pm. The aim is to help everyone enjoy moving to music - as much or as little as you can manage. Everyone is welcome, with or without dancing experience. Some people might just want to watch and support the group, enjoying the music and the chance to meet up with others once again. Other people will join in every dance.
The sessions start with some of the Dances some members learnt at school. No need to worry about bringing a partner, the group gets into a set and then work out who will be 'leader' and who will be their 'partner'. Dances include, The Dashing White Sergeant, Circassion Circles and Cumberland Reel.
Volunteers are needed to help with the equipment and putting on the music.
