Lowestoft

Art Appreciation

We are a friendly, enthusiastic group with a shared interest in the Arts. We meet between 10:30 and 12:00 2nd and 4th Friday of the month at Colville House.

We tend to set artistic themes each term to study individually. We each choose a different artist or artists relevant to that topic to research in our own time and then present our findings to the group. This is always an interesting experience as our different presentations utilise various media, be it books, DVDs or computer, as we learn and share information with one another.

In addition to this, we sometimes watch DVDs on art related topics or have what we call a “postcard session” when members bring an article or painting that they think might be of general interest to the rest of the group. We also try to organise one or two outings a year and a group meal at one of the colleges.

All in all, there is never a dull moment and new members are warmly welcomed. This has always been a popular group and currently does not have a waiting list. We are in need of new members, so if you are interested in joining or wish to learn more about our activities please contact the Group Co-ordinator at groups@u3a-lowestoft.org.uk
