About Longridge U3A
Who We are
Longridge U3A was formed in April 2014 and now has over 160 members and 24 groups. We are a branch of the University of the Third Age Movement which nationally has over 300,000 members. We welcome retired and semi-retired people from Longridge and the surrounding villages who wish to meet together, not to gain qualifications but for the sheer joy of discovery as its own reward. The Groups page of this website lists our special interest groups which range from learning languages to circle dancing.
Individual Membership is £20 per year and Couples(same address) Membership is £30 per year. There are reductions should you join part way through the year. This entitles members to:
• Meetings with guest speakers held at Longridge Civic Hall at 13:45 on the first Wednesday of the month)
• Access to special interest groups (generally free except for a small charge for room hire and refreshments where appropriate)
• Excursions and events organised by the special interest groups
• Our U3A Longridge Newsletter and the U3A national magazine (5 editions per year)
• Social events
Are You a Prospective Speaker?
We hold monthly meetings where our members can hear Speakers giving presentations on a variety of interesting topics. We are always looking for new ideas for such events. So if you have particular expertise or background and can deliver an interesting presentation we'd love to hear from you. Please email our Monthly Meetings Organiser Kay Towers.
