This group has about 10 members who enjoy visiting local areas rich in wild plants including trees. Each month, on a previously agreed Wednesday morning, we meet at a local Nature Reserve or similar venue. We then spend about 2.5 hours exploring the area and in particular try to identify the plants. We do this by working as a group using our observational skills, previous knowledge and identification books to identify chosen species. We keep records of the species found.

Since November 2010 when this group was formed, we have enjoyed visiting the following places, some more than once:

  • Stoney Clouds Nature Reserve, Sandiacre

If anyone wants to join this group but does not have their own transport, please ask about sharing. For more details of this group please contact David Pinney.
