U3A South East London is a member of the local Network of U3As based in the South East of Greater London.
The Network arranges meetings and training events which would be difficult for individual U3As to either arrange or have sufficient members to justify the event.
Our next Network event for members will be "Down the Drain" a seminar at the London Metropolitan Archive in the spring of 2019. We will celebrate the bicentenary of the birth of Joseph Bazalgette by looking at the causes of the Great Stink and the remarkable engineering feat that he undertook to build London's sewers. By the end of the day we will be bang up to date by looking at the present Thames Tideway Project that is currently underway to manage sewage and to stop the pollution of London's rivers.

Report on our 2018 Event On the Shoulders of Suffragettes
Around 70 members attended our event on the Suffragettes at the Old Royal Naval College.
The feedback from those that attended was overwhelmingly positive and indeed an enjoyable day was had by all who attended. Our conference was ably chaired by Bridget Prentice and speakers included Dr Anne Dugdale, Dr Claire Eustance, Megan Dobney, Lynne Dixon, Diane Deudney and Teresa Pearce MP. The audience were entertained by our poet in residence Terry Timmons.
Here are some pictures taken by Jo Livingston and Roger Mead that will provide some flavour of the event. Click on an image to see the big picture.
