Visit to Eaton Patisserie Jan 2020

On Thursday 9th January, 13 members met at Eaton Patisserie in St Marychurch for the best visit of the year.
This business (for they do not regard it as a factory) makes hand-made cakes using only real cream, Belgian chocolate and best ingredients to create stunning creations which go all over the country e.g. Dunelm cafés, Warner hotels etc.
We had to don hairnets, white coats and shoe covers to enter the food areas and saw the 'family' of workers creating salted caramel slices; separate areas for gluten free and vegan preparations, baking areas, stores, chill rooms, the lot.
We were taken round in small groups to see everything and then we were treated to some delicious samples whilst learning about the very strict hygiene and food laws that they have to meet.
Finally to finish a great visit we were given cakes to take home.
Well done Colin you have surpassed yourself.

Question - What is a callet? We ate some!
