Littlehampton u3a Coffee Mornings are on the 2nd Monday monthly, 10.30 - 12.00, at the Vardar Restaurant, Selborne Road, Littlehampton, (see map of the area), to which all members and prospective members are cordially invited. As well as some Committee members, a number of group leaders are on hand and happy to offer information about their groups. Come along & meet some fellow-members!.... £2.50 for tea or coffee (plus a refill) & biscuits.

Littlehampton u3a Speaker Meetings starting at 14.00 are held in the Littlehampton United Church, 1 High Street, Littlehampton BN17 5EG. Entrance fee is £1.00 for (any) u3a members and £2.00 for non-members. Our new speaker meeting coordinator, Susan Holder, is currently putting together a programme of interesting talks to entertain us in 2021. They will be advertised in the Events list below, in the weekly Bulletin emailed to members and in the Newsletter produced twice a year.

**NOTE: Our Speaker Meetings will be held "virtually" via ZOOM, until further notice.

The Events list below shows details of local meetings held by Littlehampton u3a; of county-wide events held by Sussex u3a Network (SUN), and of regional events held by the South East u3a Region. Sometimes we feature Third Age Trust national events, however they have such an extensive programme of events it is wise to also check the National u3a Events page on their website.

SUN Study Days cost £8 for u3a members (£10 for non-members). They generally start around 09.45 and last until 15.30. You will need to bring a packed lunch.
Programmes and application forms are distributed at least six weeks before each Study day. Please contact our Sussex u3a Network rep for these or for more information about SUN click here.

Thu Mar 18th Speaker Meeting via Zoom - "The Cockney Detective"
Steve Roberts is a former Scotland Yard detective who was brought up in London’s East End and he will share with us many personal experiences, highlighting the highs and lows of police work.

Speaker Meeting via Zoom: Sarah Slater - "Sex, Secrets, Scandal and Salacious Gossip of the Royal Palace"
Sarah has worked at Hampton Court Palace for the last twelve years as a Guide Lecturer, Tourist Guide and State Apartment Warder. Her very popular talk is about all the scandalous gossip and some of the naughty bits of history you would probably not have learnt about at school!

  • Warning, this talk is not for the prude, it is fun but rude!

Thu May 20th Speaker Meeting via Zoom - "Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity (GOSH)"
The talk will cover the world-class care the hospital offers to seriously ill children from all over Britain and their families, and how the kindness of their supporters makes a huge difference to the quality of that care.

It will include inspiring patient stories and research news, with an update on how GOSH has been coping during the pandemic.
