Ukulele
DURING THE COVID 19 PANDEMIC MOST LITTLEBOROUGH U3A GROUPS MEETINGS WERE SUSPENDED . The ukulele players continued to have lessons and practice via Zoom.
When restrictions eased we met at the BEAL CAFE in Milnrow for weekly play-along sessions under Dave McKeon's leadership, while continuing to have lessons with Steve via Zoom.
We will continue to meet at the BEAL CAFE on Wednesdays from 13.00 -14.00, and recommence meetings at the home of the convenor (Steve Lister) from May 13th, from 10.30 am ., while Dave McKeon holds ZOOM practice sessions throughout the week (see below). Many members also attend sessions with other non-U3A ukulele groupS.
WE HAVE SOME PERFORMANCES PLANNED AND DONATE THE PROCEEDS TO CHARITY.
Invitation to join the Ukulele group’s other ZOOM sessions
Dave McKeon reports that some members from the Friday morning Ukulele group have been meeting for Zoom sessions during the week
"THESE SESSIONS MIGHT ALSO INTEREST OTHER PEOPLE. I’ll explain why: during these sessions we go through some songbooks I’ve put together, and other songs [all well- known ones] in a relaxed, singalong way. So,anyone who fancies joining in, is again, very welcome. Because of the sound delay in Zoom, we can’t all play and sing together as a group, but I lead the songs, while the other people, in their homes, are muted, so I can’t hear them, but they can hear me, and so join-in playing/singing. Anyone who can’t play the uke can come and take part in these sessions if they’d like to. They might want to just watch/listen, or they can test out their vocal cords by singing along in their homes-albeit in a duo with me. I thought this might appeal to some of the choir members?
’If this is something you would like to be involved in, the Zoom link for all of these sessions is:

Steve adds "Unfortunately lack of space, time and energy means that we can't accept any beginners, or start a beginners' course. The BEAL sessions are open to anyone that wants to sing along, shake a maraca or just listen. There is no charge!"
