Mon Jul 16thBird WatchingConwy RSPB reserve. Bring your membership card if you have one. Meet at 9 am. Silver Hill Milnrow. Bring packed lunch.
Tue Jul 17thOutingsOuting to Mrs Elizabeth Gaskell's House, Plymouth Grove, Manchester.

I won't be at the 9th July monthly meeting but, rest assured, I shall be going with you on this outing and I have done a 'dry run' on public transport to make sure that we shall find our way there.

The current unpredictability of the trains isn't helpful, but my intention is to catch the 1132 train from Littleborough that goes via Manchester Victoria to Salford Central. Otherwise, take any train to Manchester Victoria and then any of the frequent connections to Salford Central.

At Salford Central, go down the stairs to street level and cross the road to the 50 bus stop located under the railway bridge. The 50 buses to East Didsbury run every 10 minutes.

When the bus nears the Manchester Infirmary site, look out for the Travelodge Hotel on the left and get off at the next stop.

Walk in the direction from which the bus has come and turn right into Swinton Grove.

Walk along the side of the park and you will find the House on the left at the junction of Swinton Grove and Plymouth Grove.

The arrangements made with the House staff are that we shall have lunch at 1pm before the tour and then have free time after it. Departure time is not fixed but I am advised that we should have seen everything to be able to leave by 3pm.

In the meantime, let me know of any queries you might have by clicking on the 'Bird'.

See you on the 17th July.
