u3a stands for the University of the Third Age. It's an Association where older people can share life skills and experiences and exchange knowledge and talents. It is a global self-help organisation for those no longer in full-time paid employment.
u3a branches typically hold general meetings -usually monthly and with an external speaker, and have activity groups covering a wide range of interests.

Our meetings are held on the first Wednesday of each month, unless otherwise stated, at the Public Hall in Liskeard commencing at 10.00am.

If you are interested in joining Liskeard u3a you can either come along to one of the monthly meetings where you will be met by a “Welcomer” who will explain how things work. You will also be able to meet committee members and group coordinators, and can join then and there. Alternatively, you can print off a Membership Form from this link, fill it in and post with your cheque and a stamped, addressed envelope to;
Membership Secretary, Kynance Horn Lane Liskeard PL14 6BP

The University of The Third Age creates opportunities for "life long learning". It is a unique platform for people no longer in full time employment to share life skills and experiences and to exchange knowledge and talents benefiting both older citizens and the wider community of which we are an important part.

Note
Prospective members can attend a main meeting and/or one interest group meeting as a "taster" before joining, with the prior consent of the group leader, and excluding external visits and events. This is to ensure compliance with insurance requirements.
Once you have decided to join, please remember to take your membership card to every meeting.
