Sallys Short Walks

We have now put together a programme of walks for 2020 and these are listed below. Last year we tried a few shorter walks, often over fairly level ground for those who are unable to walk too far. However, these were not well attended. If you would like to join us for the start of the walk and then return to your car when you are ready, please feel free to do that. We are all adults on these walks so if you want to leave at any time, just let me know before you make your way back.

I'm afraid that we do not allow dogs on these walks.

Most of the walks will be on the second Wednesday in the month (the exception being in April when we will meet on the 15th because the main U3A meeting is on the 8th), start at 2pm and exact details of where to meet will be shown on the sign up sheet at the monthly meeting.

Sadly I had to cancel four of our walks in 2019 because of bad weather so let's hope 2020 is kinder to us.

We started this year with a short walk around Saltash in lovely weather on the 15th January, the sun shone and we were pleased to see so many signs of life in the woodlands there, with some early flowers like primroses, camellias and even a few daffodils.

12th February - meet in the Calstock car park for a walk to Cotehele Quay and back.
11th March - Cardinham Woods - the route we take will depend on the weather.
15th April - Tamar Trails - near Gunnislake
13th May - Lanhydrock - meet at Respryn Bridge car park
10th June - Luxulyan Valley - meet at Ponts Mill car park
8th July - Lostwithiel
9th September - Sibleyback Lake
14th October - The Downs, West Looe
11th November - Liskeard Historic Town
10th December is the provisional date for our joint walk and lunch with Paul's Group

Please contact me (details on the annual programme card) if you want more information or want to join any of the walks. If the weather is not good enough I will make a decision about cancellation at around midday and will contact everyone on the sign up sheet then. I do understand that it is not always easy to make a commitment in advance but if you want to come along we will start the walk at 2pm and if you do not put your name on the sheet, I will be unable to contact you if we have to cancel for any reason.
