First Unification of Germany
The First Unification of Germany (new)
THY Wednesdays 1015-1215 fortnightly from 17th Jan
Convener: Michael Austin
At the beginning of the 19th century there were more than 300
hundred individual German-speaking states. By the end of the
19th century there was just one, and it was the most powerful
country in continental Europe. How did this happen? Why did
this happen? And what were the consequences?
With your help we will try to answer these questions. Members or groups
of members interested in making presentations please contact the
convener. A list of source material will be circulated before the course
starts. The course is limited to thirty members so please book early if not
to be disappointed.
