This course does not duplicate material in previous series but prior attendance is
not a pre-requisite.
Public art is taken as art in public places such as the
street, parks, town squares and other open spaces. It ranges from
traditional bronze sculptures of public figures to abstract works in new
materials and even sound and light installations. The works may be
paid for by national or local authorities, developers or individuals. They
may be made from steel, bronze, other metals, resin, wood, stone, glass,
concrete, ceramics, or other materials.
All sessions will be fully illustrated, mostly with the tutor’s own
photographs. The sessions are informal and class discussion is

14 Jan - London: Highgate, Woolwich, Erith
21 Jan - Liverpool (continued) and Southport
28 Jan - Trails: Nottingham (Hoodwinked), Bristol (Gromit Unleashed), London (Tusk Rhinos)
4 Feb - East Midlands: Leicester, Northampton, Nottingham
11 Feb - Hull and East Riding.
