In the winter we go as an educational group to various attractions.
In Summer we may have day trips further afield.
So far we have been to Summerlee Heritage Centre, Glasgow Science Centre several times, Scotland Street School,Peoples' Palace and Glengoyne distillery where we had did "the wee tasting tour" and had a couple of drams of malt whisky, before getting the bus back.
20 members and friends has a great day on a mail boat trip around the islands in Loch Lomond stopping for lunch at the hotel on Inchmurrin. Also several sailings from Balloch around the islands in Loch Lomond in June we went on a Sweeny's Loch Lomond cruise from Balloch, after having lunch beforehand in Balloch.
A tour of See Woo Chinese Supermarket, by 16 members, followed by a chines meal lunch in their restaurant in September, and in October a outing to Cardwell Nursery Garden Centre Lunderston Bay and the shops was done, using the free bus.
A very interesting visit by 24 members to Prestwick Scottish Air Traffic Centre followed by an excellent carvery lunch at the Carlton Hotel in Prestwick travelling to Prestwick by coach. 19 of us went to a lunch time Play, Pie and a Pint at Oran Mor called "Top Table" where you get a pie or quiche and a Pint or glass of Wine, or soft drink.
Another year in July another Play, Pie and Pint “Doon the water for the Glesga Fair” which was very comical.
In August we revisited the Science Centre and Planetarium. In September we had a day trip to Edinburgh with a Scottish Parliament guided tour, and in November we visited the Transport Museum in Glasgow, and there was a free visit to Historic Scotland's Stirling Castle.
We hopr to revisit the Scottish Parliament and go on their Art tour, visit Edinburgh Castle, have a trip on the Waverly.
