Our March visit to Manchester Central Library's exhibition - The Danger Tree - was an interactive one,
using earphones and iPads to follow a series of paintings where visions were superimposed to show
footage of film clips from Flanders with the sound of cannon fire in the distance, transporting us back
100 years to the war-ravaged village. It was extremely evocative and moving and a real tear-jerker. It is
on until 31st March and is well worth a visit. From there we crossed the road to Manchester Art Gallery
where one of the exhibitions was a series of artwork by the Manchester born Suffragist, Annie Swynnerton,
which was really excellent, her work is superb.
Our next meeting is on Wednesday 4th April at 1.00 pm and the subject is:
'A Mini Masterpiece Exhibition' and is open to everyone!
Our May meeting will be on 2nd May and we are visiting the Yorkshire Sculpture Park,
IF ANYONE WOULD LIKE TO GO, EVEN IF YOU DON'T COME TO THE ART APPRECIATION GROUP, PLEASE
CONTACT ME, ALL WELCOME.
