Family History

Facilitator:%Eileen Ball%01942 680063
Venue & time:Leigh Miners1pm - 3pm2nd Thursday in month

Our theme for our October meeting was Occupations and for November it will be "A Time Capsule." There are no rules involved, the imagination can run riot and you decide what you would like to leave for the great grandchildren or would you prefer to send something back in time to make an ancestor's life a little easier?

The meeting will be Thursday, 08 November when we also hope to discuss plans for researching a house or street in the local area.

For those considering attending the group, our members range in experience from complete beginners to people with many years experience and everyone is very welcome.

We are not a "teaching group" as such, as there are many excellent teaching programmes available online but we offer guidance, help and advice as required. We have fun and enjoy lively discussions. The subjects we touch on are wide ranging as family history cannot be separated from social history but our emphasis of course, is on helping people to find those elusive ancestors and putting "flesh on the bones."

Family History Group meets every second Thursday in the month at 1pm.
