Gardening

June 8th - A happy update!

Today we went to our first open garden with the NGS. Over a dozen of us went to Elwy Lodge in Woodham Walter to see the owner's fabulous garden ( and eat his home made cakes!)in brilliant sunshine. We were the only ones there for some time and I was talking to the owner and saying that the group chatting on the lawn were all from our u3a Garden Group. He said he'd wondered why all the people were so busy talking to strangers - and when I told him who we were he asked when we'd all seen each other last. February 2020 I answered! Unbelievable!

So, hoping the good weather lasts and we can start to go out and about doing our favourite things - eating, drinking, chatting and seeing beautiful gardens.

Last Open garden on 1st Jul when we went to Lin and Fred's garden - very interesting with lots of little quiet places to sit down. Cake almost never ending - thanks Lin!!

Next Open Garden is at Paul & Shirley's on 20th July between 11 and 3pm.Fingers crossed for good weather.
Shirley and Paul's open garden was a great success and on one of the hottest afternoons of the year!.

I have recently taken the decision to step down as Group Leader of this group and hope that someone will come forward to continue what is a very successful and enjoyable group. Thank you for your support. Judith
