There is an exhibition of photographs from their photographic competion held in autumn 2023 at Clitheroe Castle.

The annual Bowland Dark Skies Festival starts on Saturday, 10 February 2024.

Fresh Call for Volunteers for Lancaster University PhD Student Research

The Neuroscience of Speech and Action lab at Lancaster University are looking for volunteers for their research study.
They want to understand how our brain works when we listen to and remember speech.
To take part, you need to be an English speaker aged between 16-35 or 65+ years of age and from either Lancaster or Morecambe. The research study will happen in our lab at Lancaster University.

Prime Time Film Club
Prime Time are launching a new monthly film club which offers FREE daytime film screening at the Dukes, followed by a social activity. Open to anyone 65 and over and you don’t have to be a member of the regular creative workshops.

Prime Time 2023

Prime Time is back for 2023 with a scheme of weekly social and creative workshops. Supported by the National Lottery Community Fund, aimed at older community members 65+ who want to meet up with like-minded people, looking for creative opportunities and new experiences.
Prime Time Sessions in both Lancaster and Morecambe will include acting, performance, script writing, directing and theatre technology, and will be delivered by an extended team of creative freelancers and specialists.
During 2023 all sessions are free!
Weekly sessions have started already in both Lancaster and Morecambe, but we are still accepting new members.

Members of Lancashire County Libraries can obtain online access to read a wide range of newspapers and magazines, as well as ebooks and audio books. Virtually all daily newspapers are available and many of the magazines that you might see in the shops. The choice includes foreign newspapers and magazines which can be translated by the website.
