The sport of Kings and Queens is one I have been passionate about most of my life, together with Shires Equestrian and Show-jumping.
Here is the Queen, delighted with her prize of a £50 Tesco voucher for a win at the Royal Windsor Horse Show on 12th May 2016!
Exeter Racecourse on Haldon Hill begin their Autumn 2019/Spring 2020 season on Thursday 10th October. See the details on the website at Exeter Racecourse. On Tuesday 3rd May 2016, the last day of their Spring season that year, the 5.45pm race was won by Moabit, a German-bred gelding (see picture right). He is in the middle of the picture taken in the winners' enclosure. I am 4th from left!
Our local course at Newton Abbot starts their 2019 season on Easter Saturday, 20th April, followed by 18 more fixtures to Thursday 10th October. There is more information on their website at Newton Abbot Racing. See video: Ride the Course.
If you would like to know a bit more about this sport, maybe have a small flutter, understand the jargon, visit the racecourse, join a syndicate or have a bit more knowledge to enjoy watching the racing on television then please contact me to join a small informal group. We can decide on a suitable day and arrange transport.
Joining a syndicate involves paying a few tens (or more seriously a few hundreds) of pounds for a small share in the ownership of a racehorse. You will receive your share of its winnings and an opportunity to enter the winners' enclosure.
