The KEU3A Bridge Group was started by Steve Dooley in 2011 and is run by a number of people who also play in local bridge clubs, Kingsbridge and Thurlestone. The Group meets from September to May, subscription £10. The Group is affiliated to the English Bridge Union (EBU), so all registered members automatically become members of the EBU, at no extra cost.
There are two sections of the Group, Players and Tuition.
The Players Section play duplicate bridge on Friday afternoons, 1.45pm to 5pm, in the West Charleton Village Hall, which has free parking and is on a bus route. Cost £2 per session, including refreshments. Pre-dealt hands and electronic scoring give results displayed real-time. After each session full results and analysis are available on the Group’s website. Results are passed on to the EBU to update individual performance.
The Tuition Section, for beginners and intermediate “refreshers”, meets on Thursday afternoons 2pm to 4.30pm in a room at The Regal in Kingsbridge. Cost £2 per session, including tea or coffee. Copies of past seminars are shown in the Link panel on the right.
New members at any level are always welcome, both individuals and pairs. Individuals will be paired with someone of equivalent ability, as far as possible. For more information, or to discuss your interest, please contact the Group Leader, Nick Barrett, on 842259 or click Bridge to email.
