Kingsbridge Estuary

Groups

Kingsbridge Estuary U3A offer a wide range of interest and study groups. To find out more about a particular group and for contact information, scroll down and click on a link in the table below .

Do you have a special interest you would like to share? Have you ever wished there was a particular interest group? Have you been frustrated by being told a group is full? Then why not start one!

  • It only takes two people to form a group and meetings can be held anywhere, at any time you choose, on any subject or interest you wish.
  • Groups meet on a regular basis during the day as shown in the timetable summary below.
  • Most groups meet either monthly or fortnightly rather than weekly, so it should be possible to join several groups should you wish.
  • Some groups meet in members’ houses; others, such as Walking Groups, don't have a regular meeting place.
  • We car-share for any members who are without transport, particularly for field trips, and the members of each group share any expenses eg hall hire or transport.
  • You don’t need to have any expertise or special knowledge -although it’s great if you do & want to share it. U3A is all about self-help & learning together
  • All a group needs is for someone to agree to be the point of contact
  • Do look at the wealth of opportunities offered by online learning
  • The group can, initially, be set up to run for a short period – e.g.the online ‘Future Learning’ courses (which are free) last around 6 weeks – it doesn’t have to be a long-term commitment.

You may attend a group as a 'taster' prior to committing to joining Kingsbridge Estuary U3A. However, membership of KEU3A is a requirement to continue with the interest group.

If you are keen to start a new group, please contact the Groups Coordinator: Liz Hext on 843202 or click New Group to email.

I have had requests for a Stamp Collecting Group and a Latin Group. Please contact me if you are interested. For Latin, please state whether beginner or more advanced.
