Play reading 2
Our group meets in members' homes on the 2nd and 4th Thursday in the month from 11am - 1pm all year round. There is opportunity to socialise at the beginning of the meeting (the host provides tea and coffee) and twice a year, in summer and before Christmas we enjoy a pub lunch together after a morning reading a play.
Group members have the opportunity to get involved in selecting plays and we aim to enjoy a variety from the medieval Geoffrey Chaucer to the modern Jaki McCarrick. Scripts are borrowed from Warwickshire Music and Drama Library at a small charge.
Meetings offer us an opportunity to read a part in a drama without enacting it on stage or needing to read the lines. No previous experience is required. There is no typecasting according to age, sex or personality as part of the fun is in playing different roles. We enjoy a convivial, relaxing atmosphere and have interesting discussions which are evoked by many of the plays.
We are sorry we are unable to offer places at the present time but the group Convenor Jenny Green (Tel: 01926 853898) would be happy to be contacted by anyone who is interested in participating, as we were able to assist Play-reading Group 3 to become established and would be happy to support the development of a Group 4.
