Patchwork and Quilting 2 (Beginners)
We are a friendly group who have an interest in learning the various techniques of patchwork and quilting.
We meet at the Methodist Hall in Priory Road Kenilworth on the fourth Wednesday of the month from 2.00-4:30 pm.
We have welcomed back our teacher, Heather Howard and who has been extremely patient with us over the last year as we have developed our patchwork quilting skills. She is also happy to answer any questions we might have about projects we are making at home or give advice about new projects.
We have recently learned how to sew curves and have produced a round cushion and some gift bags ideal for Christmas presents. Our latest projects include learning to make a storage roll to keep our work from getting damaged using different quilting techniques, learning how to use Disappearing Nine Squares to create a bag and how to make perfect triangles using the half square method. One of our members created the cushion you can see in the picture using this method. We also created an owl using small pieces of left over material (Pictures to follow)
We are trying to build up the class and look forward to any enquiries from members interested in joining us. Please contact the leader using the link on the right. Beginners and all levels are very welcome.
